You know I love a good festival, live music in the open air, delicious food, extravagant outfits and watching the sunset surrounded with friends. What more do you want? Maybe a holiday? Doesn’t sound too bad does it?
I usually tend to go for festivals abroad, in sunny Lisbon right next to the river. Many other festivals in Spain have been on my list for a while as well. You’ve got Barcelona with Primavera Sound, and of course famous Ibiza that never seems to have a quiet night.
But Spain has many other cultural festivals to offer year round. So if you are struggling to choose a summer holiday over a summer filled with festivals, I can’t recommend a trip to beautiful Spain enough.

Before moving house, I was considering a Majorca holiday this year. I’ve always heard great things about the island and was surprised to find out the many festivals planned during late summer. Unfortunately a holiday is no longer in the books for me, but you might just be looking for this gem of an island!
The biggest event seems to be on the 28th of August, where locals celebrate Festa de’s Cavall. Thousands of people head to the Plaza de Sant Bartomeu to watch the spectacles of traditional horse games, to enjoy delicious wines and to sing and dance until sun comes up again the next day! The Spanish do street parties like no other, let me tell you that!
Let the summer begin!
Lots of love,
