One of fashion’s unspoken rules is to never repeat an outfit. A rule I used to live by, and that also kept me creative by mixing and matching the same clothes into a different look every time. Can you imagine the struggle each morning? Yes, at times it could be quite difficult indeed. So, why exactly do we put ourselves through this?
Why never wear a cute outfit again?
It seems a bit odd that you would spend all that time and money on creating a bomb AF outfit that you will never wear again. One of my criteria when buying clothes is that I should be able to style the item with at least two things I already have in my wardrobe (not everything I buy always passes this I’m not going to lie!). The perfect example is this red satin skirt. I could wear (and have worn) it differently, yet this particular combination remains my favourite. So much so, that I went and wore the outfit again to a work event.
Choose your occasions wisely
Now we have established that you totally should wear your cute outfits again, lets talk about how to pull off wearing the same thing. In the end, it is completely up to you of course! However, if you want to wear the same thing again discreetly I would advice you to choose the right occasion. Think about when and where you first wore an outfit; who saw you, were any photos taken, what day was it?
When it comes to work or uni, I’m sure we all have a Mon-Fri uniform. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday are for comfy clothes. On Wednesday and Friday you might make more effort (maybe that is just me). Maybe this sounds weird, but I wouldn’t wear the same outfit on the same day of the week, nor would I wear it too quickly after first wearing it. I also like to consider whom I saw when first wearing an outfit, so wearing something to work and then wearing it again to meet friends is not something you should worry about. In my head that doesn’t even count 😂
It’s eco and wallet friendly!
It is no secret that shopping probably has a bad effect on both your wallet and the environment. By recycling your outfits you will have to shop lees often, meaning you will spend less money and help save the environment!
