In all honesty, I salute the women that leave the house au naturel. I wish I had the guts to do that on a daily basis, but the truth is I just care too much, plus the idea of not wearing a bra ever also feels pretty strange to me somehow.
With that being said, I do leave mine home sometimes when they just don’t seem to work with my off shoulder tops. At first I tried alternatives such as nipple covers, but they don’t seem to be doing anything at all. And lets not forget how painful they are to remove! So, what does work?
For the last four years now I have given myself the best gift ever. On what seemed like a normal day my life had changed forever. I cannot begin to tell you how loosing the painful, torturous wired bras has given me so much more comfort. Look, I understand that this might not be an option for everyone, as the wires are there for a reason (I think). But if you are fairly small chested like myself, you do not need no wires leaving painful marks on your ribs hun! A wireless bra with well-adjusted straps will do the trick. Don’t get me wrong, taking your bra off after a long day is still the best feeling ever. Even with a wireless one.
Wireless bras come in all sorts, my favourite ones have to be the padded version as they are really just like a regular bra. If you are in colder climates, or are just nervous that your nipples will steal the show then these are probably the best ones to go for.
If you are leaning towards the free the nipple spectrum a bit more than I can highly recommend going for bralets! I do love me a gorgeous lacy bralet! They look lovely in summer with looser tops, and I also like to wear them on nights outs with tops that are a bit too revealing without one!
Different from the nipple covers, as these are more like sticky cups that supposedly provide more support. I say supposedly because I have never tried them myself. Mostly because I am leaning more towards the free the nipple end of the spectrum 😂 I do think they will be better than those flimsy nipple covers that really don’t to anything. Also, the chicken fillets look a lot less painful to remove!
I have been eyeing up these bras for a while now! They are basically two cups that create support and ‘cleavage’. I think they would look really nice with a v-neck top, but because I don’t own that many I’m not sure if buying one of these bras will be worth it… In addition, most of my v-neck tops are so low that the bra would be visible anyway! A bit tricky indeed…
We all have these ‘just quickly going to the supermarket’ moments right? A lazy Sunday in, but you do want a bit of support so the sports bra comes in handy. No workout planned though!
Ditch the bra
I would like to conclude with the question, why wear a bra at all? If you are struggling to find a right fit for you, and you are pretty comfortable with the idea of not wearing one, then don’t! You do you boo!
Let me know which type of bra you prefer (or don’t) in the comments! or tweet me @justsavxnnah!
