British Summer Time, much like Dutch Summer Time, is not known for its sunshine and high temperatures. Although I must say that this summer has been pretty good so far. Therefore, it is essential to invest time (and money) in flowy, breezy cover-ups that are both on-trend and serve as a summer jacket.
Personally, I am a big fan of the kimono. You can see me wearing one nearly all summer long, like here and here. Yes, I really do love that particular kimono! This year, however, it was time for an update. The kimono has made a come-back (thank goodness) and is now very much loved in a silky material that looks like you are wearing a bathrobe even more. Don’t you just love it?
I’m very much looking forward to my summer days in Lisbon, wearing this kimono on top of a nice pair of denim shorts and a top or even over my bikini as a cover-up. A kimono is just so versatile, and a great way to cover up any ‘food babies’ too! The jeans I am wearing in this outfit are pretty tight around the waist, so after our delicious brunch at The Breakfast Club I was so glad that my huuuuge (but satisfied) belly wasn’t showing!
The sandals I’m wearing are so gorgeous, but they are an absolute pain! It really is such a shame, as they are a wide fit as well. Yet , the strap that goes around the toes is just too narrow, which leaves a very painful blister…
