How to accentuate your curves in beautiful Homecoming dresses*

Even though it’s summer, the Homecoming dance occurs only a mere few weeks after school begins. Now is the perfect time to comb through your fashion magazines and start marking which styles you like the best. As you begin trying on dresses, don’t lose hope if the dress looked better on the model than it does on you. Each one of us has a different body type so different styles of Homecoming dresses will accentuate our best features.

Beginning your Homecoming dress search early allows you to purchase the best designer homecoming dresses in 2017. Here are some ideas to help you.

Flat- Chested and Rectangle shape – Trying to add more curves or feature the few you do have? Try a sweetheart
neckline since the heart shape defines your bust even better.  An Ellie Wilde prom dress allows you to
showcase your toned figure in a turquoise beaded crop top and fitted floral
skirt.  V-necks and halter-style formal
dresses also make your bust line appear larger without worrying about spillage
like your curvier classmates. Consider wearing a high halter-style gown as not
only does it elevate your cleavage but it shows off your tiny waist and slender
figure with jersey-hugging material.

Petite girls – Petite girls often
want to add some length to their short legs, which is best done by donning a
short, fitted dress, which showcases your natural waist and hits above the
knee. Wear a type of flirty and flared dress that flatters your curves while making
your legs appear leaner and longer. Adding some heels will also help.

Hourglass body shape – If you are blessed
with an hourglass shape, you can wear a variety of Homecoming dresses.  Your most important goal is to select a dress
that will hug your curves in all the right places, such as a one-shoulder fitted
beaded dress. You can get away with almost anything such as showing off toned
shoulders and back in a sexy dress with crisscrossed back, cinched waist, and
curve-hugging lace material.

Pear body type – If you have wider hips
and a smaller bust line, you want to choose a Homecoming dress that keeps the
focus on the bodice of the dress. Look for dresses with one-shoulder or
cap-sleeves and patterned or decorated bodices like a floral short dress.  Long one-shoulder dresses will flatter you
too as they showcase toned shoulders, cinch waistlines, and skirt and hug your
hips perfectly.

Curvy and Plus-Sized -Nowadays, you have
more choices when it comes to
plus-size dresses and accenting or hiding curves, depending on your preference. If you
have a smaller waist, but fuller hips try a gown with empire waistband since it
will hide your stomach and skirt your hips. Try wearing an elegant dress, which
features a deep V-neck, an empire waistband, and a flowing chiffon skirt.

Are you ready to begin shopping for your dress? Remember, since
Homecoming is the first dance of the year, you want to make a good impression
so choose a dress that will showcase your best features.

Lots of Love,

Savannah

Ikr! I remember going to two high school dances, dressing up slightly but not as fancy either. Let's hope we get an opportunity to dress up soon! x
