As promised in my article about Oxford I will tell you all about the solo trip I took the day after that one to Cardiff. Yes, I had quite a busy weekend didn’t I!
I talked to you about travelling alone, even if it’s just for a day, but funnily enough my solo experience in Oxford didn’t make me more confident for the second trip. Nevertheless, after slight hesitations and the usual struggle to get out of bed before 10 am (I’m just really not a morning person), I made my journey to Cardiff.
This journey was about 4 hours by coach (it felt a lot longer), but luckily by the time my behind couldn’t take the slightly uncomfortable seat anymore, we arrived in a sunny Cardiff. As soon as I laid eyes on the city I fell in love with its beauty, greenery and friendly atmosphere. I didn’t really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
Unfortunately I arrived too late to participate in the free walking tours around the city, however I quite enjoyed walking around by myself. Nearly all the sights in Cardiff are in the city centre, making it incredibly easy to navigate your way around.
After walking around for a bit, it was lunchtime and again I decided to find a bench at the park to enjoy my lunch. It was really nice to just observe all the activities around me, as there was a football match about to start (the stadium is right in front of the park) and lots of people were heading towards the match or just enjoying their Saturday at the park.
What is a trip without some shopping?
After lunch I headed back to the city centre to do some more of my favourite hobby: shopping! Alright, it was more window shopping than actual shopping but I did pick up a few accessories that I shared with you in this post.
I had such a lovely day in Cardiff and I hope to be able to go back soon to do some more exploring!
Lots of Love,
