1. Pretty Little Liars
Seriously, is there a girl on this planet who doesn’t love this series? In all honesty I waited a very long time (read; until this summer) to start watching Pretty Little Liars. At first I was way too scared to watch this, my friends would always tell me how scary and terrifying the episodes are and how they couldn’t watch them in the dark, when they’re home alone etc.
When my fear got out of the way I decided that I wanted to watch this on TV instead of on the computer, since it was a few years back and I had never heard of HDMI before (never claimed to be a techy person ok). Excuses, excuses until I thought it was enough. I wanted to find out what everyone was losing their minds about every Tuesday!
Up until this day I’m still not sure whether or not that was the right decision. We’re now six months later and my entire life is based around finding out who the hell A is!! The fact that I, too, have to wait aaaages before the next episode kills me. It was so much mor fun to watch episodes back-to-back… I need to find out who A is, so I can move on with my life!
If you still haven’t checked this out, I highly recommend it. Don’t let the crime scene-esque, soft-horror and mystery hold you back, it’s not too bad and I’m a true coward when it comes to these things. You’ll soon drown into the world of these girls and their horrible stalker.
2. Ugly Betty
It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve watched these episodes, they will always be just as exciting and touching as the first time I saw them. Whoever came up with this idea is brilliant; a nerdy girl gets a job as an assistant at a high fashion magazine in New York, this results in a hilarious and sometimes sad roller coaster.
Betty is such a lovely girl, you’ll instantly fall in love with her character. She’s so determined to chase her dreams and she doesn’t give up, no matter what she keeps working hard with a positive attitude. In a way she kind of reminds me of myself, but I could definitely be more positive! In fact I think many people would relate to her character.
The entire series are based around her and the dreams she tries to achieve, her constant battle to try and earn the credit she deserves at her job, a little bit of her love life and a lot of family! In the end you’ll be surprised by how she’s grown into this strong and independent business women. Every time I watch that last episode I shed a little tear of happiness, you’ll end up feeling incredibly proud of her (at least I do).
Very, very old school but I can’t help myself. A series about three (four) sister witches and how they cope with the every-day life and the underworld troubles. This was actually the first series I watched as a kid (except for the usual comedy as Friends and The Nanny). My friends and I were so obsessed that we actually imitated the entire episode from the night before during recess. Yes we were mental. There were three of us so each would be a sister and we literally managed to play the entire episode in 15 minutes, we knew every line not even kidding.
Now I haven’t actually watched an episode for about 5 years, but since this was such a big part of my childhood it will always be one of my favourite series. It would be so much fun to re-watch all of the episodes again one day!
4. Hart of Dixie
A bit more recent than the last two series mentioned. This New York doctor moves to Bluebell to gain work experience, but ends op staying there since she likes it so much. It’s probably not the most exciting series out there, but if you’re in for a good laugh this is definitely one to watch.
First of all the Bluebellians are absolutely hilarious; they aren’t flexible of openminded at all, which makes it pretty hard for Zoe to fit in at first. After a while they accept her presence (a little) and she finds her way, to eventually stay in Bluebell instead of going back to New York. Rachel Bilson has super cute outfits on all the time, which is a great inspiration to pick an outfit yourself for the next day 😉
5. The Big Bang Theory
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this brilliant comedy. Four nerds and their pretty neighbour, oh my god, I LOL at every episode! This cast masters the art of acting perfectly, how can they keep a straight face with all the hilarious things they either have to say or hear? I sure know I would never be able to film one episode of this series!
Lots of Love,
