My solo travel bucket list*

This summer, before I moved house, the thought of travelling to a sunny destination on my own became more and more interesting. To a point where I began researching places that would be 'safest' for solo female travellers. Obviously after I put in the deposit fee for my new room, all holiday thoughts went out the window, but they did leave me with a Solo Travel Bucket List that I want to share with you today!

New York

When am I not going to mention the big apple you ask? The day I finally set foot in this amazing city! It is even possible to love a city so much without having been there? It came to a point where I am now considering travelling to New York solo. The only thing holding me back is the fact that I will not get all the money shots for the gram if I do go on my own.

But there is something so peaceful about the thought of travelling alone, especially to a city that I admire this much. You get to do everything you want to in your own time, you get to take in everything and just live your best life. I started realising that travelling alone might be a good option for me after a few months in London. I had visited the city many times before, but never enjoyed it as much as I do now. Sometimes during my commute home, I just look out of the train window and realise how lucky and happy I am to be in the city that I love. These moments are what I imagine travelling solo to feel like.

Maldives

These islands are literally paradise on earth and I would love to spend a week on one of their beaches, to take the occasional dive in the turquoise ocean. You don't really need company when you are reading book after book, taking nap after nap and when you are just taking in the all beauty mother nature has to offer.

I used to be completely against the idea of a beach holiday, but after working full time for over a year I finally get them. You need that time to just do nothing and become present in the moment. Especially in a beautiful location like the Maldives, it is definitely going to be a therapeutic experience. Book your Maldives Holidays - 2018/2019 here.

Dubai

This destination has been on my re-visit list for ages! It is a shopper's paradise, and you all know how much I love shopping... So much, that only my mum (bless her) can keep up with me, or at least she tries. This is also why I prefer to go shopping on my own, I just love to spend hours exploring each corner of a shop and trying on everything that catches my attention.

When I think of my experience in Dubai I just remember the massive malls, filled with all sorts of attention grabbers from ice skating rinks to shops I didn't know existed! I will definitely have a good time on my own in the malls of Dubai! Plus, there won't be anyone telling me that I am spending too much so it is a win win situation 😉

Seoul

I have never made it as far as Asia but one day I would love to travel around, especially to visit Seoul. My love for the city actually started when I discovered the incredible dance studio 1MILLION on YouTube. You guessed it, when I do find myself in this city I will of course book a dance class or two!

*This post was written in collaboration with Destination2 but all opinions are my own.

From what I have seen, the food is just unbelievable and there is a lot to see and do. It is actually one of the few places that I could probably leave my precious London for, even if it is just for a little while. Let me know if you are interested in seeing the other places that are on my 'To Live Bucket List' because I would be more than happy to share!

Where would you like to go on a solo trip?

Lots of love,
Savannah

  3. Great destinations! I've also thought a lot about travelling solo, but I must admit I have not become brave enough yet.
