Festival Season: Encore Festival Amsterdam

There's a first time for everything right? Believe it or not, this was my first festival in The Netherlands and the first festival I had to brave the rain in. Both were very surprising experiences.

Remember the best weekend of my life, aka my weekend at Wireless? Well, although Encore Festival was only one day it came pretty close to my experience at Wireless. That, even without the VIP package and all the celebrities I met. The music and vibes were just incredible. The only thing that nearly made me go home was the rain, and I'm not talking a little drizzle. It was literally pissing it down during the first few hours, so much so that I was having a really hard time enjoying the festival. But once I thought, you know what fuck it, the rain stopped and I was having a blast!

From international to local, the lineup was sick and the DJs in between sets kept us shaking our booties. We even managed to get front row for quite some performances, which was an incredible experience! I seriously think this festival should be more than just a day, and that it should get a lot more attention as well organised and just good fun!

As I am no longer a local in Amsterdam, I had no idea that Encore is a weekly event that takes place on Saturdays and they organise an annual outdoor festival in summer. Therefore, when the last song was played just after 11 we headed to the official afterparty in the Melkweg to continue shaking our booties until, wait for it... FIVE IN THE MORNING!!! Yes, it was a beautiful day/night to remember and most importantly to do all over again next year!

Festival Season 2018 was great, but has unfortunately come to an end for me. I hope you had a great season too, let me know which festivals you went to this year!
