Surprise surprise! The real reason behind our trip to Brussels, what else could it be right? My friends and I got VIP tickets to go see One Direction in our neighbouring country, an opportunity that wasn't exactly cheap but worth every cent! Not only did we get to have an amazing time in Brussels, we also had this whole other thing to be really excited about.
The trip was filled with fun and exciting moments, with the occasional stress kicking in every now and then. We were desperate to really get value for money so we decided to go to the stadium at 6 in the morning... To our surprise it was already quite busy around that time since some people actually camped in front of the stadium the night before!
Once security opened their doors for us at 8 am we got our VIP package; a VIP lanyard, a set of wristbands, a portable charger (fully loaded and ready to use) and a lovely tote bag. We then got comfy on the other sides of the fences, only a few metres away from the entrance of the stadium. With about 8 more hours to go before we could actually enter the stadium, we decided to catch up on some sleep, reapply some make-up and observe the (somewhat bizarre) crowd.
Let me tell you that the atmosphere wasn't friendly at all, the first argument came bight and early around 7 in the morning, with plenty more to follow minutes before entering the stadium as well as during the concert. Never in my life have I been pushed, called names and hated by some many people all at once. However standing 2nd row to see my most favourite people in this world (probably) was so worth the struggle.
Of course I had seen One Direction before, but never from this close. We were so close that I could actually throw a pack of mini-stroopwafels (caramel waffles) on stage and Harry then happily shared some of them with the crowd. This particular show was also special since they secretly changed the setlist by singing 18 (my favourite song from the album) and No Control (a big fan favourite).
Although it really felt like they were incomplete without Zayn the concert was one to cherish for ever!
Lots of Love,
