I probably don’t have to tell you once again that I’m very new to the whole make-up thing. To slowly build a little collection, I pretty much splurged on everything I could get my hands on while in London. Now that that’s almost a month ago, time really flies, I thought it would be the perfect moment for a review.
The product I’ve been most interested in using was the Kiko Soft Focus Compact Mineral Foundation. Now I’ve never, ever, worn anything on my face other than some BB cream every now and then. Therefore going straight on to foundations seemed a bit too much for me. The next best option was a foundation in a powder form, which gives you a softer and more natural finish, especially if it’s mineral make-up.
At first I had a lot of trouble with finding the right shade for my skin tone, the girl in the store really helped me figure it all out. At the time I was pretty tanned as the sun was shining in London (I know unbelievable) so that didn’t make things easier. Fortunately Kiko has such a wide variety of shades, and eventually we came to the decision that shade 11 Caramel was a perfect match.
Now as you can see from the photos, you can barely tell the difference! The foundation is really buildable, besides it can be used either wet or dry. I personally always use this product dry and apply with either the Flat Foundation Brush or the Real Techniques. The girl from the store recommended those brushes to me, as I really wanted a sheer finish.
I don’t wear this product on a daily basis, but I can really tell the difference when I wear it. Sometimes you just want a little more coverage, or sometimes you really need it! All in all, I’m very happy with this foundation and I will definitely buy it again when I run out.
Lots of Love,
